![]() In this story, a little cloud changes form and shape several times before joining with other clouds to make rain. Our art project this week was based on Eric Carle’s Little Cloud. ![]() We read, Little Cloud by Eric Carle, A Cloudy Day, by Melvin and Gilda Berger, Follow The Water From The Brook To Ocean, by Arthur Dorros, and Cloudette by Tom Lichtenheld to reinforce our discussion on rain and clouds. This week, we talked about how water vapor rises into the clouds, and when the clouds accumulate enough water, it rains. The children suggested we turn our Dramatic Play area into a Flower Shop. The children also made a large mural to display in the classroom with little rainclouds. We learned two new songs, painted flowers with dot brushes at the easel and umbrellas with watercolor. We also discussed other things such as a change in clothing – wearing thinner jackets, and dressing in fewer layers. ![]() With each book, we learned about the various signs of Spring, including, change in temperature, the budding of flowers and leaf buds on plants and trees. We read the following books about Spring: Splish, Splash, Spring! by Jan Carr, The Big Umbrella by Amy June Bates, and What Will The Weather Be? by Lynda Dewitt. The children were also happy to be back and were eager to share their Spring journals. We were really excited to have the children back last week. ![]()
